The wines of Pierro are the culmination of passion, innovation, location, climate and time. Wherever our wines are enjoyed around the world today they invariably impart a tangible trace of their idyllic place of origin – warm southern climes, ancient soils, healthful vines and years of skilled hands-on viticulture and winemaking.
For over a quarter of a century we have striven to fuse these elements to produce superior wines of singular extraction, character and elegance. Our quest for heightened quality continues with each passing vintage.
2017 Pierro Semillon Sauvignon Blanc L.T.C
THE HON. L.T.C.
Semillon & Sauvignon Blanc with just a Little Touch of Chardonnay
L.T.C., with a hint of her elegant mother, is a fresh and lively young lady from the Willyabrup Duchy. She dances lightly, melting hearts with her delightful approachability. Dressed in a subtle blend of delicate fabrics - a light and floating skirt with a structured bodice, she is most often seen with a basket of fresh, zesty citrus fruits, herbs and wild flowers over one arm. A wonderful pre-dinner conversationalist or a superb companion with whom to enjoy fresh seafood.

MADEMOISELLE DE BLANC
Introducing Mademoiselle “Blanche” de Blanc, the PIERRO family’s French Maid. Mademoiselle de Blanc has been part of the household for many years and is much treasured by the family, not least for her charming ability to add to any social occasion. An elegant blend of Chenin Blanc, Riesling and Viognier she comes into her own in the summer, delighting guests with her silky soft accent and trailing an irresistible aroma of
tropical fruit, apricot, passionfruit and a touch of gooseberry as she saunters between the garden party guests. You may catch her winking playfully at the older men from a safe distance, while they pretend not to notice but smile smugly into their glasses of Port. Her speciality is Asian cuisine and providing delightful summer refreshment.

(You’ll know why …)
PIERRO Blanc de Blanc 2016
Intense, aromatic aromas of tropical fruit, passion fruit, pineapple and a touch of gooseberry lead into a silky soft palate of great style and intensity. The flavours are fresh, lively and crisp in the mouth with soft lingering acidity. Can be drunk when young as a delightful summer wine, but will develop complexity and richness with bottle age.
For a relaxing lunchtime quaff, a refreshing pre-dinner tipple or perfect as an uncomplicated companion to a simple meal.
2014 Pierro Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot L.T.Cf.
THE HON. L.T.Cf.
Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot with a Little Touch of Cabernet Franc
Introducing Pierrot - the family romantic, he secretly pines after the French Maid, who is oblivious to his sentiments. A somewhat naively trusting character, he is affectionately teased by his big sister, but takes solace in his book-learning. 12 months maturing in French oak, he spends much of this time improving his mind and developing his integrity as an artist. Somewhat shy at first, he proves himself a worthy companion over dinner, with a rich and flavoursome personality that enriches the evening. A most approachable young man, he offers quiet but thought-provoking nuances that leave you with something to think about. When the time comes for you to go home, he’ll more often than not take your arm in a gentle grip and leave you with a parting gesture that makes you smile as you step out into the night. An intriguing character, he inspires you to watch him age through the next decade to see what delights he might offer up.
60% Cabernet Sauvignon
A little touch of Cabernet Franc (10%)
(& at times a dash of Petit Verdot and Malbec)
Hand-picked, hand sorted, gently destemmed and berry sorted. Small, separate –batch ferments. Aged for 12 months in French oak.
Mozart Piano Concerto No.21 in C
Romantic, pensive, a delicate tone with some subtle weight beneath it.
PIERRO L.T.Cf. 2014
“Majestic in it elegance, this is very different from the Reserve. Redcurrant, sage, licorice and a smidgeon of cedar oak are drawn long and sapid by finely ground chalky tannins and assuaging acidity. A gentle glide across the palate with just enough pucker to keep one coming back.
Halliday Wine Companion 2018
2014 Pierro Pino’s
The Eccentric Uncle
The PIERRO Household would not be complete without beloved Uncle Pino’S. An elegantly slim gentleman, he invariably dresses in a weighty velvet jacket with a fine, silk cravat. His cologne leaves hints of briar and brambly aromas as he wanders about the room, gesticulating with expressive, aristocratic hands and bristling with his mustachios with pleasure at his own quick wit. He talks of red cherries and blackberries with a playful glint in his eye and a concentration that gives way to a bright, even vibrant personality. Delightful company in the moment, although he can occasionally benefit from a brief spell in the cellar… but don’t expect him to remember your name if you leave him down there for too long!
85% Pinot Noir
Handpicked, hand-sorted, gently destemmed and berry sorted. Fermented in small batches in the traditional manner with some whole bunches included in the ferment. Matured for 12 months in French oak.”
Mozart Piano Concerto No.27 in B Allegro (part 3)
Gentle, light but with weighty moments - playful and sophisticated.
Pierro Pino’S 2014
The 2014 is wonderfully perfumed with wild berry and red cherry aromas. It is medium-bodied with a bit more weight due to the 15% shiraz component that has been added. The result is underlying power, richness and depth to add to its juicy, easy drinking style. Silky, smooth and stylish. Perfect with Chinese roast duck and BBQ’d meats, especially when served slightly chilled on those warm balmy evenings.
2014 Pierro Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Reserve
THE DUKE OF WILLYABRUP
M’lud Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Reserve
Formal Head of the PIERRO Household, he stands tall, elegant and impeccably dressed in tasteful silk fabrics and a structured top hat. His quiet manner belies a subtle complexity of character derived from his exotic heritage; although predominantly of Cabernet and Merlot descent, his bloodlines reveal a hint of Cabernet Franc and a firm grasp of European linguistics. His understated presence belies a man of intelligence, refinery and subtle strength of character - like many a Duke, he defers to his formidable wife to charm their guests, preferring to linger in the billiards room where friends might join him for a fine cigar.

PIERRO Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Reserve 2014
It has already been hailed as a remarkable vintage for cabernet sauvignon: “2014 might be the greatest Margaret River cabernet vintage … A year for the ages.” Ray Jordan In the show circuit, wines from the vintage continue to dominate. In 2016 six of the seven capital city cabernet trophies were won by 2014 Margaret River wines — the seventh was another Margaret River wine from a different vintage. And last year five of the seven trophies were for 2014 Margaret River wines.
Here at PIERRO, in the quest for perfection, the 2014 vintage saw the introduction of individual berry sorting in addition to our standard practise of sorting the bunches by hand. Fragrant and perfumed. Elegant but powerful. Rich and soft with silky smooth tannins – one of our best
